PolyCAD
Provide parameters to change the number of points on each Polyline in the Polyline List based on specific criteria.
Number of Vertices
Controls the number of vertices on Polyline curves.
Maximum Number of Points Specified the maximum number of vertices to allow on each curve.
Maximum Point Spacing Specifies the maximum spacing to allow between points on each curve.

Maintain Shape

Employs an algorithm which remove points by selecting those with the smallest external angles between line segments until the curve reaches Maximum Number of Points. This is an exclusive option.
Remove Colinear Points Removes points which are linearly located between neighbouring points.

Knuckle Points
If some polylines have sharp corners (knuckle points), such as at a deck, and they need to be accurately capture at the surface. This parameter defines a threshold internal angle for those polyline segments that should be considered knunkle points.

Modify Points to Waterplane

Some (older) hydrodynamics software have limitation on the number of points that can be considered below the waterline. This option changes the number of points on each polyline by considering the number of points allowed below the waterplane, but not exceeding the criteria specified in Number of Vertices
Draught Specifies the draught of the waterplane.
Trim Angle Specifies the trim angle of the waterplane in degrees. Bow down trim is positive.
Number of Points below waterplane Specifies the maximum number of points allowed below the waterplane.
